The GWG consists of the following nine chartered focus groups made up of subject
matter experts that address topical issues related to GEOINT standards:

- Motion Imagery Standards Board (MISB)
- Community Sensor Model Working Group (CSMWG)
- Application Schemas for Feature Encoding Focus Group (ASFE FG)
- Geographic Portrayal Focus Group (PFG)
- Metadata Focus Group (MFG)
- Geospatial Web Services (GWS) Focus Group
(GWS FG)
- Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Focus Group (OFG)
- World Geodetic System (WGS) and Geomatics Focus Group (WGSG FG)
